故事讲述了一个印度男孩在孟买热爱板球，并发现这项运动并不像他想象的那么纯粹。

一位面临作家瓶颈的小说家遇到了一位初露头角的作家。绝望之下，他决定用她的故事写下一部小说。与此同时，一名电影助理正在策划一些恶毒的事情来摧毁他和他的近亲。

　　故事发生在2001年，在印度农村的某个地方，两位年轻的新娘在火车上意外地交换了身份。在接下来的混乱中，她们各自遇到了许多性格各异的人，结果出现了意想不到的事情。

　　A government scheme sees newly widowed Santosh inherit her husband’s job as a police constable in the rural badlands of Northern India. When a low-caste girl is found raped and murdered, she is pulled into the investigation under the wing of charismatic feminist inspector Sharma.

　　Every Tuesday, Claudine goes to a mountain hotel to meet men passing through. When one of them decides to extend his stay for her, Claudine is confused and finds herself dreaming of another life.

　　拉菲（纳瓦祖丁·席迪圭 Nawazuddin Siddiqui 饰）是一名摄影师，靠着在旅游景点帮游客们拍照维持生计。拉菲和祖母之间的关系十分的要好，年迈的祖母希望能在死前看到拉菲成家立业，为了安慰祖母，拉菲撒了一个善意的谎言，他找了一张自己所拍的游客的照片给祖母看，谎称照片上的女子是自己的未婚妻。
　　让拉菲没有想到的是，看了照片兴奋不已的祖母竟然提出要登门拜访，亲眼见一见自己未来的孙媳妇，为了圆谎，拉菲的当务之急就是找到照片中的女子。功夫不负有心人，拉菲总算找到了这个名叫米洛尼（桑亚·玛荷塔 Sanya Malhotra 饰）的女人，他恳请米洛尼和自己演一出戏。
